The vessel, having lost
its functional use, remains an archetypal form for anyone working
with ceramics. At different times between 1986 and 1990 I experimented
with decorative shapes and elements, which, though inspired
by Classical tradition, went beyond the original function of
vase/container, taking on a symbolic significance. I called
this series "Mythvessels", to evoke and stress the
fundamental presence of this form/object in the culture of all
civilisations.
